Selected Black Sapphire OE

At the turn of the year, some of our strains are selected and animals that do not meet our breeding goal are discarded. In this advert we are offering selectedNeocaridina Black Sapphire OE shrimp. The breeding goal of the line is a dark blue colour, the specimens available are unevenly or black in colour. It is to be expected that the offspring will again include a few high-quality animals with a uniform, strong dark blue colour or, with a bit of luck, even with a stripe on the back.

Size available for sale: Animals available for sale have a minimum size of 1 cm, i.e. shortly before sexual maturity.

General information on keeping and breeding: Like all dwarf shrimps of the genus Neocaridina, these animals are very adaptable and can usually be kept in tap water (18 - 26 °C) without any problems. In our facility, the tap water has the following values: pH 7.6, gH 10; kH 9, conductivity 600uS, 22 °C. The animals feed on conventional fish food, algae growth and dead animal and plant material. This means that they are ideal at using up leftovers and contribute to the biological balance in the aquarium. Keeping them with small and medium-sized aquarium fish can work, but it is recommended to provide sufficient hiding places such as moss and roots. Under optimal conditions, animals quickly grow into lively colonies.
